Accounting Assistant

The Sewell Family of Companies is looking for an entry level accounting professional to help ensure accuracy and efficacy of our company's operations. This role will be assisting with the financial responsiblities of a new department within our company, and managing AP and AR transactions. Experience in accounting or dealership admin is a plus, while experience with Quickbooks or other accounting software is also highly beneficial.

Full time position: Monday - Friday from 8:00 am 5:00 pm.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Process accounts and payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording data
  • Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
  • Responsibly maintain accounts
  • Discuss discrepancies with management or account holders
  • Facilitate payment of invoices
  • Generate detailed reports
  • Manage vehicle accounts by tracking purchasing requirements, titles, and payments
  • Assist with customer processing and contract agreements
  • Attend training classes and meetings as necessary

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent, College degree preferred
  • 1 year related experience
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Quick Books experience is a plus

 

Compensation:

Hourly rate plus bonus program. Starting hourly rate is $12 +, depending on experience.
